CK enhances near vision or farsightedness. It is best suited for
people
over 40 years of age whose main need is for near tasks. It is designed
to eliminate or reduce the need for reading glasses. CK is performed
by
the surgeon applying a very fine probe - thinner than a human hair -
to
deliver radiofrequency energy to the cornea. This causes tissue to
contract
or shrink and steepen the central cornea.
