LASEK

LASEK is one of the newer techniques developed to take full
advantage
of our new laser capabilities. The epithelial layer (surface) of the
cornea
is meticulously separated from the underlying stroma before laser
application.
This surface layer is then slipped back over the treated zone. LASEK
is therefore similar to the LASIK procedure, but with the advantages
of
a thinner or no flap.
